I have been away and have some catching up to do! So this week I’ll introduce you to two of the recent Humane League of Lancaster County Pets of the Week! First up is Chestnut. Now how cute is she?
Chestnut is an inquisitive and sociable rabbit in need of a loving family. This five-year-old bunny is accustomed to being held and enjoys having her soft fur stroked. She’ll even let you plant a gentle kiss on her wiggly little nose! Not only does Chestnut enjoy affectionate moments with her people, she’s also very active and playful. When encouraged, Chestnut will chase a toy and she loves to spend time outside of her cage every day. Her previous family would even take her outside on a leash to let her explore! Chestnut also enjoyed hanging out with the resident Dachshund in her last home, giving her a little sniff and paw from time to time. Chestnut is already spayed and ready to hop into a wonderful new relationship with you. Give her plenty of fresh fruits and veggies to nibble, lots of daily love and attention, and Chestnut will be a very happy member of your family!
Remember, like all pets, adopting a rabbit is a lifelong commitment. Think a rabbit may be a good pet for your family? The ASPCA has a great article about rabbit care here.
Next, meet Sapphire! What a pretty girl she is.
Named for the striking color of her eyes, Sapphire is a beautiful cat with a beautiful personality. This warm and friendly three-year-old happily seeks attention from people she knows and also those she’s just met. She loves sitting in her person’s lap while being petted and groomed, showing her appreciation with snuggling and lots of purring! Sapphire is already spayed, litter-box trained and ready to once again have a family to belong to. Sapphire is a very friendly kitty who absolutely loves human contact and her social personality will make her a wonderful addition to your loving home. If you want a gorgeous cat by your side giving you lots of love, then Sapphire is just the gem for you!
If you’re interested in learning more about Chestnut or Sapphire you can visit the Humane League of Lancaster County during their adoption hours (be sure to check the website for hours), or email catadoptions@humaneleague.com.
