If you know me or have read my blog for any length of time you know I have a ‘thing’ for shoes. It’s a hereditary thing for me, runs in the family. And I’m happily passing it along to my kids! Honestly, though I absolutely love a cool looking shoe, what I always look for first in shoes for me and my kids is something supportive. It’s especially important for kids who are running around on growing feet in growing bodies. Just like I have favorite brands for myself, I have favorite brands for my kids. One that tops the list is Pediped.
I was fortunate to have the opportunity to review this pair of Flex Sahara shoes in blue for my 3 year-old son. This isn’t the first time we’ve had Pedipeds. I bought him a couple of pairs when he was a wee little guy just learning to walk. We love this pair just as we loved the other pairs we’ve had.
Pediped shoes are flexible. This has to be my favorite feature. Little people just learning to walk, or just learning to master a sprint after his sister to the bus stop, aren’t steady enough on their feet for an inflexible, stiff-soled shoe. There are fewer trips and slips in these shoes that conform to kids’ feet.
Their styles are the cutest. Well really, no one wants ugly shoes. 🙂 I love this pair we got for my son. He’s so cute in them, kinda sporty, kinda summery, and all boy. This particular pair can get wet, too. Plus they’re machine washable and made from eco-friendly materials. I’m really looking forward to taking him to the beach in them. Somehow kids always manage to get their shoes wet, don’t they? It’s nice when you don’t have to worry that they’re going to get ruined when it happens.
Pediped shoes are supportive. This is also at the top of my list. Yesterday one of my kids jumped off the bed and you would have thought an elephant dropped through the roof. How a small child can land that hard on their feet is beyond me. I know how rough they can be, and I want their little legs and back supported by good quality shoes. Flip flops are fine for running to the mailbox. They’re not fine for the playground. Pediped shoes have padded heels to absorb shock, and pediped Originals®, Grip ‘n’ Go™, and Flex® have been officially recognized by the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) as being beneficial for children’s growing feet. Enough said, right?!
These shoes are great quality. They really last. Of course kids’ feet grow, and when they’re really little I found myself replacing their shoes every 3 months or so. But I find with a more flexible shoe you can get more wear of out them. They don’t trip and fall as easily in a bigger shoe if it’s not stiff, so there’s room to grow. This pair I got for my son, though I ordered it in his current size, is a little big. He doesn’t seem to notice at all, and I love it because I think he’ll make it through the whole summer in one pair of shoes.
Next time your kiddos need a new pair of kicks, look for Pedipeds. You’ll fall in love with their styles and you’ll feel good about them sporting supportive, comfy shoes. Follow Pediped on Facebook and Twitter to be the first to know about their newest products and promotions!

I didn’t realize Pediped was making larger sized shoes. Those ARE some nice looking sandals.

Those are so cute! Both my son and daughter would look good sporting a pair of Pedipeds – love how supportive they are too. Thanks for the review – now it’s time to go shopping. 😛

Those shoes look adorable. I love how the sandels are not open toes to protect their little feet!
